Everyone is going to have an awesome day!
Including me, even though my DVR magically decided to not record any of my programs, included but not limited to:
Jeopardy (Yes, I record Jeopardy. I know, I know. I can’t help it.)
Parks and Recreation (WTF, DVR.)
Project Runway (It’s okay, I just stayed up and watched…though I went to bed before the winner and loser were announced. Mondo won in my heart. Can anyone do my googling for me?)
American Idol (Auditions are the only time I watch the show)
To better days ahead,
m.
What I Wore: Closet Essentials
There are a few things in my closet that are absolute go to pieces. I could never live without colorful tops, my navy riding jacket from when I was ten (eep!), a comfy pair of jeans, and riding boots. This outfit is so versatile and whether I’m going to the airport, mall, out with friends or casual Friday, I know I’ll feel comfortable in this.
Halogen Silk blouse- Nordstrom $78.00
Navy Riding Jacket- No idea!
7 for all mankind jeans… I’m not sure what style they are (and they were a dark wash when I bought them three years ago!) - Nordstrom ($???)
Cole Haan suede riding boots- Macy’s $150.00
Michael Kors gold watch- Macy’s $250.00 (but so worth it!)
Love! m.
Things I discover in the morning
The hands of my new Micheal Kors watch glow in the dark. (It was 6:40)
This is currently my favorite song— I could live in these lyrics and his voice.
xoxo, m.
Ah, the end of a vacation can be surprisingly nice—laundry in the dryer, Stanford ball game on, cat feeling me up, photo editing…
Is anyone else as relaxed as I am?
Happy New Year, everyone!
May it be filled with joy, truth, and gratitude. I have a great feeling about 2012!

This is what happens when you give a workaholic the day off.
Václav Havel’s funeral procession. Guys, I’m a really upset by this. If Havel hadn’t have been such an amazing dissident and helped to overthrow communism, Jáchym Topol would have never written City Sister Silver and that means I would have never been able to use this book to compose my senior dissertation on the basis that all revolutions can be traced back to the early dissidents—the artists, musicians and writers. The writings and work of Václav Havel have totally changed my life and now he is eternally gone and that is just slightly more than I can handle right now.

I’ve had some coffee and time while answering emails this morning to think about the joy that my tumblr dash brings me, including, but not limited to my funny/stylish/European/awesome followers, my supportive, never-failing, super amazing IRL friends, the goodness of Elie Saab (hnnnng)/Prabal Gurung/Balmain/Carolina Herrera that I scroll past with a smile on my face, all The Office/Parks and Rec/Always Sunny (Seasons 1-4)/Arrested gifs, gifs of Kim K. crying, and lots of really awesome women (and some men- not Jesse, ew) who have their own sense of style and infuse this world with some much needed creativity.
You are all amazing- so thank you for another year of tumblr goodness and here’s to 2012!
EDIT: Now with a picture of my hiar so you don’t forget who I am.
